Creators FAQs

Whether you're a filmmaker, writer, musician, or other content creator, EMG provides a debt-free, transparent, and audience-driven way to fund, distribute, and monetize your project through blockchain tokenization. Below, we’ve compiled answers to the most common questions to help you understand how EMG works and how it can support your creative journey.

  • EMG is a blockchain-powered platform that enables content creators to raise funding for films, television, and music projects by tokenizing their work. Instead of relying on traditional financing methods (loans, investors, studio deals), creators sell tokens to their audience and supporters, providing them with profit participation, access to exclusive content, and deeper engagement in the project’s success.

  • Tokenization is the process of turning your Intellectual Property (i.e. creative project, film, episodic series, song, album, etc) into digital tokens that represent financial participation rights and exclusive perks for your supporters. These tokens allow backers to:

    ● Support the project’s funding through a secure, blockchain-based system

    ● Receive a share of future revenues from streaming, box office, licensing, and more

    ● Trade, sell, or hold their tokens on a future EMG marketplace

    ● Access exclusive behind-the-scenes content, early screenings, or creative input opportunities

  • Unlike traditional crowdfunding, where supporters only receive one-time perks, EMG tokens provide:

    ● Financial participation in the project’s revenue – Supporters receive a portion of earnings, not just a T-shirt or digital copy.

    ● Tradeable, blockchain-secured tokens – Tokens may be held, sold, or transferred, allowing for long-term engagement.

    ● Complete transparency – Every transaction, fund allocation, and revenue distribution is tracked on the blockchain, preventing mismanagement.

    ● Debt-free financing – No need to repay investors, sign away creative control, or take out loans.

  • EMG supports a wide range of media and entertainment projects, including:

    ● Feature Films (independent & studio-backed)

    ● TV Series & Web Shows

    ● Music Albums, Singles, & Video Projects

Projects should have a clear funding goal, distribution strategy, and audience appeal to qualify for tokenization.

  • No, absolutely not. Unlike traditional financing models that require giving up equity or creative rights, EMG ensures you retain ownership and control over your work.

    ● Token buyers do NOT own rights to the project—they receive profit participation

    and perks, NOT decision-making power.

    ● You determine how funds are used, production timelines, and distribution deals.

  • To get started, submit your project through our online application process, which includes:

    ● Project Overview – Concept, script, or pitch deck, Clean Chain of Title (i.e. Proof

of Copyright Registration, WGA, Option Agreement or Buy-out if applicable).

    ● Funding Goal – How much capital you need and how it will be used

    ● Audience & Marketing Plan – How will your project attract supporters and token buyers?

    ● Timeline & Distribution Strategy – Release plans and monetization channels

Once reviewed, EMG will work with you to determine the best tokenization strategy for your project.

  • Step 1: Token Generation – Your project’s tokens are created and listed on the EMG platform.

Step 2: Supporters Purchase Tokens – Fans, backers, and industry partners buy tokens to fund production.

Step 3: Production & Distribution – You create and distribute your project.

Step 4: Revenue Collection & Profit Sharing – Revenue from streaming, box office, licensing, and more is automatically distributed to token holders via real world contracts.

  • All revenue from your project (box office sales, streaming, merchandise, licensing, etc.) is automatically recorded on the blockchain and distributed fairly to token holders according to the pre-set profit participation structure. This eliminates delays, middlemen, and financial mismanagement.

  • All projects on EMG have a capped budget, meaning you cannot raise more than your original funding target. This ensures that:

    ● Filmmakers stick to their planned budget, reducing financial mismanagement.

    ● Funds are allocated efficiently, increasing the film’s chances of success.

    ● Token buyers have confidence that the project is structured for sustainability and profitability.

By capping funding at the stated goal, EMG ensures a disciplined and transparent financing model that prioritizes viability and accountability.

  • Yes, we are structured to comply with SEC guidelines and financial regulations.

    ● EMG tokens are not securities, stocks, or shares—they represent profit participation and project-based perks.

    ● All transactions follow KYC/AML protocols to ensure transparency and security.

    ● We are constantly monitoring SEC-approved pathways to ensure EMG operate at the highest compliance standards.

  • There is a submission fee that covers administrative costs, including:

    ● Script reading & analysis – Ensuring high-quality storytelling and viability.

    ● Budget analysis & logistics – Reviewing production costs to align with realistic expectations.

    ● Human oversight – Verifying projects to prevent low-quality or AI-generated scripts. This fee ensures that every project submitted to EMG undergoes a rigorous evaluation process, increasing its chances of success while maintaining the integrity of the platform.

Once approved and tokenized, EMG earns revenue by taking a small percentage of token sales and future earnings from tokenized projects. Our goal is to keep costs significantly lower than traditional financing options while ensuring a sustainable, high-quality ecosystem for creators and supporters.

  • No. Due to the complexity of untangling previous commitments from original funding, EMG will not be approving partially funded projects. All projects must come with zero pre-existing IOUs.

  • If a project does not meet its funding goal, a project may be cancelled/removed and token buyers will receive refunds or be given the option to allocate their tokens to another project on EMG.

  • Submit your project through EMG’s application page, and our team will guide you through the process.
